Red Square Medical response to MERS

Red Square Medical logoAre you ready for the Red Ensign Group Yacht Code?

Red Square Medical's team comprises subject matter experts within the maritime industry from both a military and merchant navy perspective. All have been conducting emergency response preparedness training for many years with a great deal of success.

Annex C of the new REG Yacht Code states the requirements for drills that must be carried out along with their frequency. To quote the code: “Drills shall, as far as practicable, be conducted as if there were an actual emergency.”

What we do

Conduct a comprehensive review of the emergency response capability aboard your vessel. Our multi-disciplinary team examines every aspect, from the emergency response organization and crew resource management practices to the fundamentals of dealing with a variety of incidents.

Following our review, training and guidance are given to help you become best prepared for the time when you need it.

How we do it

This is normally conducted over a 2 or 3-day period on-board the vessel facilitated by our team of 2 or 3 persons.
Supported by an agreed programme containing a combination of various evaluation and training modules, examples of which are outlined below.
2 or 3 Day Assessment Training Programmes can be provided on request.
We can tailor something bespoke to suit your needs.

Resource Management Considerations

Our team will evaluate the effectiveness of the crew dealing with emergencies on-board. Not only will this include an assessment of their familiarity with the equipment and their ability to undertake the task, this will also include the principals of crew resource management:

  • Team work and leadership
  • Situational Awareness
  • Decision Making
  • Communication
