Superyacht UK AGM followed by tour of the RNLI College and All- weather Life Boat Centre

The Superyacht UK (SYUK) AGM 2017 took place at the RNLI on the 23rd May 2017. The event brought together a great representation of the SYUK member base with over 80 professionals within the superyacht sector from shipbuilders, designers and equipment suppliers to brokers and service providers.
In addition to the attendees, our seven showcase companies offered attendees with the opportunity to learn a little more about their company and how they cater within the superyacht sector. These included:

During the event, the RNLI provided a fantastic tour of the RNLI College and All-weather Life Boat Centre which was a great opportunity to understand the importance of the RNLI’s continued work within the industry and was very well received by the attendees.
This year the Executive Committee had four positions available to represent the association which were by unanimous vote allocated to:
- Stephen Hill – Pendennis Shipyard Ltd
- Kiren Jay Haslam – Princess Yachts International PLC
- Nigel Stuart – Spirit Yachts Limited
- Ken Hickling – Viking Recruitment
The Executive Committee is made up of twelve members who steer the work of the association. Headed up by Peter Brown of Burgess the Executive Committee makes key decisions to ensure the services SYUK delivers are relevant and meet the aim of the association.
During the AGM, the Executive Committee presented the SYUK pillars.
The pillars were developed by the Executive Committee to ensure the SYUK members are getting the best value for money from their membership.
Members of the team at Marine House, along with representatives of the Executive Committee, have been allocated to represent one of the five pillars to work together to ensure the continuation of successful SYUK work and identify any potential new opportunities.
The event draw to a close with a raffle and networking opportunity.
