UKSA promotes its Superyacht Cadetship course at Monaco Yacht Show
UKSA is the leading training provider for high-calibre maritime professionals. Based in Cowes, we are one of the world’s most renowned providers of RYA and MCA yacht certificates, offering a range of all-inclusive MCA and STCW approved courses. Training is from entry-level to Master 3,000gt.
Our flagship course, the Superyacht Cadetship, is unique in that it specifically trains cadets for the superyacht industry. We have developed a bespoke four-year programme structured over five phases, with the second and fourth phases offering practical placements onboard a superyacht, so providing a tangible pathway into the industry. Our cadets are currently employed in all areas of the sector, from the most high-profile motor and sailing vessels to private-performance racing superyachts.
At UKSA we are growing our resources to train up to 50 cadets per year. A significant proportion of our students receive funding from maritime charities including Trinity House and Seafarers UK, which is a compelling endorsement of a scheme that offers a viable alternative to commercial routes or university study.
Since the founding of our cadetship programme in 2005, we have launched the successful careers of hundreds of high-quality officers. Recent research illustrates that growth within the elite superyacht industry means there is a need for more trained crew in order to facilitate this growth. As we are continually seeking to grow our cadetship programme, we are looking to cement partnerships and secure long-term funding agreements for both investors and stakeholders in this industry.
