69m Lady E arrives at Pendennis for major refit
At the end of last month the 69m MY Lady E arrived into Pendennis Falmouth for an intensive winter refit programme that will see her leave at the end of next spring with an additional 6m to her length overall. The Owners’ team and Pendennis have worked hard to preserve the yacht’s original lines, sympathetically extending both her lower and main decks to create an additional 120sqm of guest space for her Owners to enjoy.
Post-refit, the popular charter yacht will boast a 60sqm beach club complete with bar, sun loungers and guest seating area on her lower deck. Her main deck will see a reconfigured guest seating area complimented by the addition of a sun pad with an integrated skylight.
Running alongside the major structural modifications is a programme of comprehensive engineering and AVIT work. This will include new generators, an exhaust system, shorepower converter and AVIT equipment throughout the vessel, as well as servicing and maintenance on all other equipment in the yacht’s engine room.
Pendennis Shipyard
Pendennis is one of the world’s leading custom superyacht build and refit shipyards and has become one of Cornwall’s most important employers with over 430 highly skilled tradespeople based at the 14-acre prime waterfront location in Falmouth, UK. The yard’s modern facilities include three bespoke-built construction halls (2x90m and 1x45m) alongside a 150m dry-dock, with the capacity for both new build and refit contracts for 30-100m superyachts. The 800 tonne travel hoist enables efficient launching into the 7,564m² non-tidal wet basin which is purpose-built to accommodate superyachts of up to 100m.
In the latter part of 2018 Pendennis secured a majority share hold in Vilanova Grand Marina, a 48 berth facility with adjacent land available for further development. The investment in Vilanova is yet another milestone in Pendennis’ international growth and offering to its global client base. The first phase of development work has recently been completed on the adjacent land turning it into a superyacht technical service centre that trades under the brand Pendennis Vilanova. Facilities now include 12,000sqm of hard standing and a 620 tonne travel hoist with supporting piers.
