Peters & May distribute £30,000 to good causes
Established in January 2019; the Peters & May Foundation was delighted to announce that within its first year in operation it successfully raised £30,000. A combination of fundraising events, individual challenges and charitable donation all played their role in raising the impressive sum. The funds have now been distributed with cheques presented to four deserving charities supported by the Peters & May Foundation. These include Cancer Research UK, The PAH Breast Unit, Teen Marine UK and Wessex Cancer Trust following their critical appeal at the end of last year.
The £30,000 was distributed across charities in a bid to fulfil the charities mission of assisting in the advancement of health and education. The Princess Alexandra Hospital was donated a sum of £15,000, Cancer Research UK £10,000, Wessex Cancer Trust £3,000 and Teen Marine UK £2,000. The money raised will go a long way towards helping these charities fund vital research, clinical trials, service provision and marine education.
The Peters & May Foundation Charity Shoot hosted annually in June was a great success raising £10,000. Over 70 attending guests enjoyed a day’s clay pigeon shooting, followed by lunch and a charity auction with impressive prizes including an ‘All Inclusive Week in the Maldives’. Individual efforts to raise funds included a marathon and half marathon attempts by employees of bespoke logistics provider Peters & May.
Looking to 2020 the Peters & May Foundation will be hosting the Clay Pigeon Charity Shoot again, this year on Friday 5th June at Penn Sport in Thatcham. Other planned fundraisers include Trustee Simon Judson’s planned attempt to cross The Channel, between the UK and France this summer. Postponed last year due to weather; Simon is excited to be gearing up to meet the challenge head on in a bid to raise money for charities. Fellow supporter of the Foundation Jack Holder will be taking in the Fan Dance Race, a 24km gruelling race in the Brecon Beacons it is renowned as the ultimate SAS selection!
