SYUK collaborates in Poole marine careers conference
Superyacht UK, British Marine and Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council recently worked in partnership to deliver a marine careers conference at the Poole Harbour Commissioners, to highlight to local careers advisors the vast array of careers available in the marine and maritime sectors.
A range of presentations were delivered throughout the day by Superyacht UK, local employers and training providers, including: the RNLI, Actisense, Port Skills and Safety, Viking Maritime, Rockley Watersports, Bournemouth and Poole College, and Solent Uni.
The conference also included a guided tour of the Port for the careers advisors.
It follows a successful event in April of this year when Superyacht UK and British Marine worked with Hampshire County Council to deliver its first marine careers conference at Solent Uni.
Employers in attendance at the first conference included: Berthon Boat Company, Princess Yachts, Dohle Yachts, Sturge Taylor Insurance, VH (Vanessa Hodgson), Solent Uni and Warsash Maritime Academy.
British Marine are aiming to work with local councils, employers, and training providers around the country to host further marine careers conferences to highlight the career opportunities available to people on a local, national, and international level.
