A+T keep SY Anne operational
A beautiful Hoek/RWD 53m Sloop built at Vitters in 2009 had originally been fitted with B&G H3000 system installed by Sailtron. This was a large system with 30 displays and a wide range of interfaces including loads, engine parameters and propeller pitch.
Over the course of 2018 and 2019 some failing displays had been upgraded to A+T replacements as needed. Then in early 2019 the decision was made to upgrade to the A+T ATP1 processor which was done over just a few days by Ronald Bunders of Tijssen Palma and the instruments were trouble free for the following Med summer season.
However, on delivery to the Caribbean in late 2019, parts of the display system started ‘freezing’, a condition which will be known to many captains and crew. Urgently needing a solution, A+T visited the yacht in Antigua in January 2020 and found a rogue old B&G display which was causing the problems. We made sure the whole system was working well before the yacht left a few days later for South Africa and then the Indian Ocean.
Commenting, Hugh Agnew says this is another example of A+T ‘being here for the long time, not a good time’. We are always happy to help yachts with their instrument systems, whatever the issue, both before they become customers of A+T and after.
